SOUTH EAST SIMON COMMUNITY IS CURRENTLY SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR THE
POSITION OF

HOUSING SERVICES TEAM LEADER.

_PURPOSE OF THE POST:_

As we continue to reach targets set under the National Housing First
Implementation Plan, the expansion of both the social care caseload
and the property portfolio in the South East has necessitated the
introduction of an additional layer of support and leadership across
both the care team and the property team. We are recruiting this
fixed-term (one year) Team Leader level role, to improve support to
front line staff in both care roles and property management roles, and
to deputise as needed for the South East Services Manager and the
Property Asset Manager.

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WITH REGARD TO SERVICES (SOCIAL CARE)
TEAM:

* Support the work of the South East Services Manager in the
planning and development of the Housing First Service and the Tenancy
Sustainment / Homelessness Prevention service.
* Ensure the implementation of care and case management for service
participants through needs assessment, care planning, shared care and
reviews. Ensure that service participant care plans are relevant,
client-led, trauma-informed, and implemented according to best
practice.
* Manage referrals into the service and ensure appropriate follow up
and decision making
* Carry out direct support to tenants and service participants as
needed, including accompanying case managers on home visits and
appointments, or covering for staff absences due to planned and
unplanned absence.
* Represent Cork and South East Simon as required at interagency
meetings with NGO partners and statutory funders, including
participation in the Homeless Action Team (HAT), Homeless Forum, and
Voluntary Service Providers Network (VSPN).
* Participate in the recruitment, induction, mentoring, and support
of team members as required.

SOME OF THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WITH REGARD TO PROPERTY FUNCTION:

* Assist in the acquisition of long term housing stock for Housing
First clients through existing practices and acting on any new
opportunities. This involves:
* Identifying suitable properties to acquire
* Viewing properties and ensuring they meet statutory rental
standards
* Liaison with estate agents, engineers, surveyors and solicitors as
required
* Working with the Property Asset Manager Cork to secure support of
the relevant local authority for the acquisition, and securing funding
* Maximize occupancy levels, reduce voids, reduce length of void
periods by working closely with the maintenance team to ensure
properties are prepared for new tenants as quickly as possible
* Coordinate the preparation of properties for viewings, and
lettings, including arranging necessary repairs and managing budgets
and suppliers
* Ensure all tenants have tenancy agreements in place. Complete new
agreements when required, and ensure all tenancies are registered with
Residential Tenancies Board.
* Coordinate the tenant’s “move in” process, and ensure
completion of all associated admin is completed in a timely fashion,
through delegation to the Housing Officer

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POST WILL HAVE:

Possess a Bachelors degree (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7 on
the QQI framework)
Or
Possess a Bachelors degree (Hons) in Social Care Practice (Level 8 on
the QQI framework)
Or
Possess an equivalent qualification
And
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a managerial role in a similar
environment
With

* Significant experience in managing and/or delivering a complex
service as relevant to this role.
* Significant operational experience in managing and delivering
change in a complex environment, as relevant to the role.
* Experience of managing and working collaboratively with multiple
internal and external stakeholders, as relevant to the role.
* The requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of
suitability, and managerial ability) for the proper discharge of the
duties of the office.
* Experience of Working in a support/property management role with
and Approved Housing Body
* Experience of managing a team
* Full clean driving licence with access to a car.
